Q: At what food service locations may I use my meal plan and points cards for purchases?

A: The Thomas More Dining Room, The Pub and The Daily Grind Coffee Shop which features Starbuck's Coffee and Planet Sub.

Q: Will my meal plan and points balances carry over to the next semester?

A: Yes, your balance will carry over from the Fall semester to the Spring semester, but will end at the finish of the academic year. This is typically the Monday following Spring graduation.

Q: If I have excess meal plan or point card money may I transfer that money to another student?

A: Yes, you may transfer money at any time to another student by simply stopping by the Sodexo Food Service Office located just inside the Thomas More Dining Room. The student transferring the money must be present to give consent as well as the transferee so that the card numbers may be verified for accuracy.

Q: If I have lost or misplaced by card what should I do?

A: You should immediately contact the Sodexo Food Service Office to have them place a hold on your account so no one will have access to your balance. They will also issue you a temporary ID card to use for a few days while you search for your card. If you have not located your card after that time period, it will be the students responsibility to contact Admissions to have a new card issued. Be sure to stop by the Food Service office to reactivate your newly reissued ID card.

Q: If I have not lost my card, but just do not have it with me may I just give the cashier my number verbally to make a purchase?

A: No, verbal numbers are not allowed for the students privacy and protection. You may at any time have a temporary ID card issued in the Sodexo Food Service Office for the day.

Q: As I use my meal plan card for purchases, how will I know if I am spending too much or too little?

A: You may access a meal plan spending chart in several different ways. This web site offers a link to a chart on the meal plan page, the sign located just outside the front doors of the Thomas More Dining Room has a chart posted next to the daily menus and you may also inquire at any of our Food Service cashier stations as they have charts as well.

Q: Since the salad bar items I purchase are priced by weight, am I being charged for the weight of the plate or container I use?

A: No, the registers are programmed with tare weights so that the cashier may select the appropriate register key according to the container or plate you have chosen and the weight of the container/plate is deducted from the total weight charged to you.
